School Day

Children may enter the school grounds either by the Infant School gate or the small Junior School gates.  Children are permitted onto the school site at 8.30 a.m. before the school day begins, but remain the responsibility of their parents or carers.  Waiting areas are confined to the front playground, no further than the end of the year-6 block, and the north playground on the Infant School side of the Youth Hut.  The school bell rings 10 minutes before the start of the school day (8.40 a.m.) and children are invited into the school building.  School assumes responsibility at this time and not before. Unless pre-arranged, anyone using the school site before 8:40 a.m. does so at their own risk.

We are very keen to encourage punctuality as it can be very disruptive to the whole class if a pupil arrives late when lessons have begun.

At the end of the day (3.10 p.m.) all children leaving by the Infant gate may cross the school site.  All other children may leave by the small Junior School gates.  Parents and carers are welcome to wait for their children inside the grounds in the front playground, or the playground next to the Youth Hut, to relieve road and path congestion outside the gates. We would ask that everyone crossing the site between the two schools use the designated safe pathway provided.  Unfortunately, there is no car parking space available in the staff car park for parents/carers’ use.
